Coastal House NZ- unbuilt proposal.
The landscape extends the coastal narrative, with sand introduced in front of the home to create a connection to the nearby beach environment. Although the house is not positioned directly on the shoreline, the sandy foreground brings the feeling of the beach closer, blurring the boundary between architecture and nature.
The sand becomes more than a material choice — it creates a place for life and memory, where children can play, barefoot moments can unfold, and the everyday rituals of coastal living are brought into the home’s immediate setting.
The result is a house that captures the relaxed spirit of the coast, not through its location alone, but through the atmosphere it creates.
